The annual conference of India Section of AOAC International was held on 14th Nov 2014 at Courtyard Marriott, Andheri. Meeting started with lighting lamp as is the traditional culture.
The conference started with welcome note by Ms. Vidya Kulkarni, Technical assistant to Dr. Deepa Bhajekar, followed by inaugural speech by Dr. Deepa Bhajekar, First President of India Section of AOAC International. She covered the activity of India Section of AOAC International for the year 2013-14

The meeting was attended by several delegates from the industry, testing laboratories & from the government regulatory laboratories
Mr. Venu Gopal (Scientist-A, Quality Evaluation Laboratory Spices Board) discussed the activities of spices board to control quality of spices for export. He explained the RASFF (Rapid alert system for food and feed) and related issues.
Dr. Balasubramaniam (Secretary – India Section of AOAC International ) discussed Validation of Analytical Methods in Food Testing, Challenges faced – Wide range of food matrices / Regional specific characteristic and Compliance to National & International Regulatory requirements.
Dr. Kaushik Banerjee (President-Elect – India Section of AOAC International) presented on the progress of the Validation exercise of the Plant growth Regulators in fruits.
Dr. Ranjan Mitra (Manager-R&D with an MNC), explained role of India Section of AOAC International in standardizing the test method for Vitamin B12 in Infant Formula and Adult Nutritionals using HPLC as an upgraded test method.
Dr. Sumit Sen (Mentor, India Section of AOAC International) later talked on Overview of the Process of Running a Validation Program in India.
