dr. prathish niistDr. K.P. Prathish, Scientist, Environmental Technology, CSIR-NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram

Dr. K.P. Prathish is a Scientist at Environmental Technology Division, CSIR- National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science & Technology (CSIR-NIIST). He is leading the Dioxin research and monitoring facility at CSIR- NIIST. A state of the art sophisticated dioxin analysis facility has been established at CSIR-NIIST under his leadership. The Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) has recommended CSIR- NIIST as a referral laboratory for dioxin analysis for environmental clearances.

The first study on the emission factors of dioxins from open burning of municipal solid wastes in India was carried out by CSIR- NIIST and is in a process to enter into an MOU with CPCB on dioxin monitoring in India. CSIR-NIIST has obtained NABL accreditation for the analysis of dioxin and dioxin-like PCBs in environmental samples such as industrial stack, ambient air, ash, soil, sediment and in residues in food and food products

Dioxins are environmental contaminants released into the air from combustion processes, that remain in the environment for many years. They are highly toxic chemical compounds harmful to human health.

Government regulatory bodies worldwide are increasingly more concerned about dioxins in our food, and are strictly monitoring specific foods with the goal of identifying ways to reduce dietary exposure

Agilent Technologies in collaboration with AOAC India Section & CSIR-NIIST, is excited to be organizing an exclusive webinar on “Regulatory Monitoring of Dioxins & PCBs in Food and Environmental Samples with Advanced Analytical Solutions”

Who should attend:
  • Food Manufacturing & Testing companies
  • Environmental Testing companies
  • Research Scientists and Institutes working on Dioxin Analysis

This Webinar is aimed at increasing awareness on the importance of Dioxins Analysis and showcasing the existing solutions with GC/GCMS technologies towards solving the current challenges.

We look forward to your presence in the webinar.

    Dear sir,

As per EU regulations GCMS MS can be used for qualitative analysis only. If it any PCB and dioxin as qualitative positive, it has to run is HRGCMS for qualitative analysis for final confirmation.

Is GCMSMS can comparable HRGCMS art to sensitivity ?
